Make your own statement. A long-time staple in any fashionista’s wardrobe: the leather jacket. I tend to lean toward the motorcycle jacket.
The spring runways were flooded with vintage, cropped, with heavy zipper detailing pieces in an array of colors. Throw it on to compliment a busy scarf or wear it solo with a white tee, rolled skinnys, and some Louboutins.
In other jacket news: Watch out for the latest incarnation of the leather jacket. As the stylelist describes it: Say a sweatshirt and a leather coat got married and had a little jacket child.
These cotton coats are sweatshirt soft, come in a variety of neutral hues (think navy, red, and ivory instead of the traditional black or brown), and are as versatile as their full on leather ancestors. To boot, the material makes them much more comfortable significantly cheaper than the real deal.
The bottom line: whether you go for the traditional leather or the new hybrid—both are options to add to your fashion street cred.
