gorilla t-shirts for chicks.

Designer Christopher Kane introduced these Gorilla Print T-shirts and Dresses for Spring 2009. Needless to say they are totally awesome.
Rihanna is looking totally sweet in this gorilla print jersey dress. available as a t-shirt here.
this is the chimp jersey t-shirt. seriously, wow. available here.

this is the original runway look.
Someone commented to me, that these shirts/dresses are not practical. I certainly understand that most individuals cannot spend 250 Euros on an awesome huge print shirt. That isn't the point of these posts. They are meant to inspire. Maybe you won't pick up an authentic Christopher Kane Gorilla Jersey Dress, but maybe you'll find an sweet H&M printed shirt and think "Hey that looks totally awesome."

Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2010.

I'm a big fan of Dries Van Noten. Always looks great. check out all of the runway looks here.
The reason I choose to show only this one look is because it blends together several things that I liked from the entire show.
I'm not even sure I like this overall look. But lets talk about it.  I like the idea of deep v-neck t-shirt with a double breasted blazer.  But due to my chest hair i'll leave this on the runway.
a fringed pocket square. real sweet.
I really like these button leg pants. They are short, clean, and show off this dude's ankles.
and of course... no socks.

Beard of the Week: Terry Richardson.

While Terry doesn't have a full beard. He has pretty substantial chops and a hilarious mustache. And there appears to be a connection between the chops and mustache. Therefore he qualifies for the beard of the week.

Richardson is a very unique fashion photographer. He made a name for himself shooting snapshots type photos with a crappy point and shoot. He still remains somewhat true to his original game but has upgraded cameras.
Here is his newest spread for Vogue Nippon August 2009. The model's name is Abbey Lee Kershaw. So cool and tough.

Louise Ebel!

This chick is so on top of fashion I can't critique or even touch her outfit/looks. She looks sooooooooooo awesome. She is an art history student in Paris. seriously so sweet. here is her blog.

DSquared2 Spring and Summer 2010.

this model looks like a total twerp. But check out the clothes. the extremely layered look.
Leggings for dude? whaaaaaaaaat? I like the rolled up khaki shorts, slim tie, and plaid jacket.
But things I don't like are the bucket hat, layered socks, and Birkenstock looking shoes.
Rolled-up khaki shorts, slim tie, and wellingtons.
I've been looking for a tuxedo jacket to wear casually. DSquared beat me to it.

mstrkrft + navy blue and black.

mstrkrft (pronounced masterkraft, but you already knew that) with john legend performing heartbreaker. on letterman last night.

here is something i've been trying to do for awhile. wearing navy blue and black together

did you recognize lauren conrad? i'm pretty sure she's wearing a wig. but she looks great wearing a navy blue jacket, black jeans, and navy blue shoes. from denimology.

this dude is from copenhagen street style, so i'm assuming he lives in copenhagen. i like his layered sweaters, pairing navy blue and black looks so awesome.
try it out.

grab bag.

4 sweet things from today.

1. B&N was linked on the Indianapolis Museum of Art Blog today. Big thanks to Phil's Pharmacy.

2. On the Street with Bill Cunningham says chicks should wear cardigans for comfort.

3. Basement Jaxx's awesome song "Raindrops" and this is a sampler thing of several available remixes.

4. Coco Rocha is the hottest ginger i've ever seen.

this is from some sweet brazilian mag.

inspired by risky business.

Risky Business. everyone knows this scene when cruise slides in his socks and long dress shirt, sans pants. it has been popularized by guitar hero commercials

but check out this look for chicks. awesome.  this is yet another swedish chick with a sweet fashion blog.

i really like her attention to detail. with her multiple colorful bracelets with a big sweet watch.

i appreciate her shoe choice. it says "hey i like to party but i know i'm not wearing pants"

The Dead Weather

This is a significant rock band that plays serious rock music. The supergroup is formed by
Alison Mosshart - The Kills

Jack White - The White Stripes and The Raconteurs
Dean Fertita - Queens of the Stone Age
Jack Lawrence - The Raconteurs
My goodness this song absolutely rocks. Pay special attention to how awesome Alison is. serious style. serious rocking.
The Dead Winter - Hang You from the Heavens

be careful your face might melt.
embedding disabled upon request - what a bunch of crap.
here is a replacement video *not nearly as cool. baaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Beard of the Week -Reprise

Jookabox has already been the beard of the week. I'm not saying that his beard is awesome enough for two beard of the week awards. in fact he might be clean shaven. but i recently found this video over at Heavy Gun Blog. an indianapolis music blog.
Check him out... again. This song is totally awesome.

AWESOME

*Posso Spats. you can purchase sweet spats here.
*seriously... her two tone sunglasses are sooooooo awesome. I discussed some similar here. While DirtyFlaws' are chanel, the B&N Nation can steal this look at a much friendlier price.
and B&N just discussed the dude's awesome Maison Martin Margiela sunglasses.
this photo combines two of my favorite sites. dirtyflaws and stylesightings.
dirtyflaws has been posted here before and stylesightings gets tons of hits from B&N. apparently their paths crossed this weekend.

fever ray - triangle walks

talked about fever ray (the chick, karin, from the knife) on the blog before. just spectacular stuff. be careful this video is really weird.

Maison Martin Margiela

this belgian designer is totally awesome just like these L’incognito sunglasses. available here, dirt cheap. and by dirt cheap i mean $454. but look how cool paris hilton looks. PARIS HILTON.

But seriously this post is about the only dude's graphic t-shirt that i've ever seen that is awesome.
since fall of 2003. Maison Martin Margiela has produced this AIDS awareness shirt. Every year he makes it in a different color. this year it is grey.

the writing says "there is more action to be done to fight AIDS than to wear this t shirt but it's a good start"
check it out here, compared to the rest of MMM's collection this shirt is mere pennies. if you don't buy i'll just assume you like AIDS. reaaaaaaaal cool.

cruise wear.

this stuff looks so cool and tough. chicks when you're going out on the yacht use these images for inspiration.
maybe the tall shoes could be substituted for flippy floppies or boat shoes for actual boating excursions.

Balenciaga Cruise 2010.
matching clutch and dress? is this cool?

i especially like this collar and cloth belt. the jacket looks a little big, but i can't say for certain as this is the only picture i've seen of this outfit.

tie length. top of the belt buckle?

this is alexander wang and dree hemingway. she looks cool (but with a touch of freakishly skinny) as always, what of it? look at her dangerous looking shoes and awesome wang dress. but lets talk about what he is wearing.
the shorts suit looks great. so does the plain white dress shirt and slim black tie. and the B&N Nation knows how much I love dress shoes with no socks. but lets talk about the tie length. this is clearly on purpose. this would be very tough to pull off right now, because everyone that sees you would think "what did that idiot just learn how to tie a tie?"
something to think about but if you're not a fashion expert or designer very tough to mess around with the length of ties.

*alexander won the CDFA Emerging Talent Award last night. whatever that means. and his collaboration with Gap hit stores today.

oh hai, its me and my girlfriend.

how wild are these people? this is from style sightings, street style in new york.

seriously look at this guy's sunglasses. noooooooooooo way.

On The Street.
This week Bill Cunningham goes on the street and talks about chicks and dudes wearing black. and i thought this ridiculous couple provides some hilariously awesome fashion for this monday morning.

opera and the knife.

I love the opera and The Knife, a swedish synthpop group. Well I'm in luck. the knife is scoring an opera based upon charles darwin.
the danish theater group hotel pro forma is producing it.
check out this short preview. i'm already lobbying the indianapolis opera to put it on the 2011 calendar.

here are some sweet images from tomorrow, in a year

checks and plaids.

I'm feeling inspired by tom ford today.
these sweet suits have been the discussion between me and harold henderson. he is trying to find something similar to these looks.

today i ended up wearing a check shirt similar to the pattern below

and a Fraser Hunting Tartan Tie that I got at goodwill a few days ago.

my tartan is a bit brighter than this. but i think that i half-assly paired my shirt and tie like tom ford did for this ad campaign.

discover discovery... again.

a lot of pub on Discovery now. I found this sweet promo mixtape thing.
you might remember them from this previous post.
to refresh your memory. this is a music side project from dude from Ra Ra Riot and and a dude from Vampire Weekend.
check out these tracks. The LP comes out July 7th.

prps denim

PRPS (PRoduct with a PurpoSe) denim is a classic, nostalgic vision of American life with a hint of the worldly wayfarer. Donwan Harrell, the founder, through his travels found that the Japanese stood out for the quality of their craftsmanship. So all the cotton is woven on vintage American looms from the 1950’s by a small community of artisans in Japan. Which creates premium quality durable fabrics, including the custom-made purple selvedge-edged denin.

this pocket/label/stitching is sick. here is the dude's autumn/winter 2009 lookbook.
selected looks on a sweet bearded french DJ.
The B&N Nation knows how much I love rolled jeans.

paint spattered = awesome.
while this post just illuminates dudes denim. real famous chicks wear prps. check them out here.
